CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and spiritual energy at Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal, under the joint auspices of the Institute of Pharmacy and the Department of Yoga. Held from 7:00 AM onwards, the event was based on this year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” aimed at promoting collective harmony among individuals, society, and nature.
The chief guest, Rahul Sharma, Assistant Professor at Atal Bihari Vajpayee University, Bhopal, highlighted the scientific aspects of yoga. He said, “Yoga not only maintains physical health but also provides mental balance and inner peace.” He further noted that modern research has proven the effectiveness of regular yoga practice in alleviating stress, depression, and high blood pressure.

Director Sharma led participants in practicing yoga and pranayama, with enthusiastic participation from all attendees. He provided detailed information on techniques, benefits, and necessary precautions for various asanas. His guidance was highly inspirational and informative.
On the occasion, Dr. Sangeeta Johri, Registrar of RNTU, emphasized the growing importance of yoga in today’s times. She said that regular yoga practice not only reduces mental stress but also strengthens immunity, and encouraged youth to integrate yoga into their daily lives.
Dr. C.P. Mishra, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, addressed the gathering and recommended that every individual should practice at least 15 minutes of yoga daily, as it boosts energy and enhances the body’s disease-fighting abilities.

The program was coordinated by Ratnesh Pandey and Durga Pandey. The event saw active participation from the departments of Yoga, Pharmacy, Medical Sciences, and other faculties, including students and faculty members. The NSS department also played a vital role and participated enthusiastically in the yoga session.
A major highlight of the event was a yoga demonstration by students from the Department of Yoga, which impressed the audience with its precision, balance, and dedication, adding to the grace and impact of the program.
The event concluded with coordinator Durga Pandey expressing gratitude to all guests, participants, students, and supporting staff, whose contributions made the event successful and memorable.
