CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the PM USHA (MERU) initiative, the Department of Biotechnology and the Bioinformatics Center at Barkatullah University, Bhopal, organized a workshop and training on “Animal Cell Culture Technology” with 50 participants from various institutions in Bhopal.

Academic experts from prestigious institutions, such as Prof. Ashwin Kotnis from AIIMS, Bhopal, Atul Kumar Pateria, Senior Scientist at NIHSAD, Bhopal, Prof. Puneet Gandhi from BMHRC, Bhopal, Shyam Kumar Nandi, Deputy Director of the Virology Lab at ICMR, Mumbai, Ram Kumar Nema, Scientist B from NIREH, Bhopal, and Prof. Ashish Acharya, Principal of St. George Institute of Pharmacy, Bhopal, provided insights on the role of animal cell culture, viral culture, vaccine development, and its significance in healthcare.

During the practical sessions, students learned various basic methods of animal cell culture and DNA isolation from primary cell culture.

The closing ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. I.K. Mansuri, Registrar of Barkatullah University, Bhopal, where certificates were distributed to all participants by Prof. Neeraj Gaur, Director of BUIT, BU, Prof. Vipin Vyas, Nodal Officer of PM USHA (MERU), and Prof. Ragini Gothalwal, Head of the Department of Biotechnology. Kishore Shende, Information Officer, extended a vote of thanks to all dignitaries and for administrative support.
