CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “LN Ayurveda College organized a one-day workshop, Anushastram 2024, in which around 450 participants from across the country participated. The workshop aimed to provide undergraduate and postgraduate students of Ayurveda with hands-on practice in traditional Ayurveda treatments.

The chief guest of the inaugural session of the program was the renowned Vaidya Gopal Das Mehta. The special guests included Satyanarayan Chouksey and Executive Director of LNCT University, Poojashree Chouksey. The program was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of LNCT University, N.K. Thapak. Other distinguished guests included the college’s Principal Sapan Jain, Vice Principal Varsha Banjari, Director Vishal Shivhare, guest speaker Shishir Prasad from Dehradun, guest speaker Vivek J from Bengaluru, Karnataka, and Dr. Chandrakumar Deshmukh from Pune, Maharashtra.

The program began with the guests lighting the lamp before Lord Dhanvantari. The program was successfully conducted by Professor and Head of the Pediatrics Department, Shailesh Jain, who also gave a welcome speech and provided an overview of the college’s work and achievements.

In the inaugural address, Vaidya Gopal Das Mehta emphasized the relevance of Ayurveda in today’s time and informed students about the opportunities available in Ayurveda. Special guest Executive Director of LNCT University, Poojashree Chouksey, welcomed all the participants on behalf of the university and urged all students to make the most of such events.

Following the inaugural session, Dr. Shishir Kumar from Uttarakhand Ayurveda University, Dehradun, delivered a lecture on Marma Chikitsa. Marma Chikitsa is a precise treatment in Ayurveda where vital points in the body, if injured, can be life-threatening, but when pressed appropriately, can cure many ailments. A theoretical lecture was followed by a practical demonstration on patients to teach the intricacies of Marma Chikitsa to all participants.

In the second session of the workshop, Dr. Vivek J from Bengaluru, Karnataka, delivered a theoretical lecture on the management of oral cancer through Ayurveda. He then conducted a hands-on practice of extracting a tooth using Jalandhara Bandha, a technique that allows the tooth to be extracted without any anesthesia and pain. The practice of extracting a tooth without pain using Jalandhara Bandha is a traditional procedure, which he demonstrated to the participants.

In the third session, Vaidya Chandrakumar from Pune, Maharashtra, gave a lecture on Agnikarma and Viddhakarma. These are methods in Ayurveda that provide immediate relief from pain in any type of patient. After a theoretical lecture on Agnikarma and Viddhakarma, practical demonstrations were conducted on patients by Chandrakumar.

The chief guest of the closing session was Mihir Kumar, National Executive Member of Arogya Bharati. Special guests included LNCT University Registrar Ajit Soni, Principal Sapan Jain, Director Vishal Shivhare, and key speakers Vivek J and Chandrakumar Deshmukh. In his address during the closing session, Mihir Kumar mentioned that although his background is in technology, since joining Arogya Bharati, he has been contributing to the healthcare field. He emphasized that Ayurveda is the way forward and that the future is very bright for students entering the field of Ayurveda.”
