CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: During a programme held in Raipur, BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi targeted the Congress and used the term “mental Naxals”. He alleged that such people are sitting in Delhi and working to spread confusion about the country and the democratic system. His statement is likely to intensify political rhetoric.

Sudhanshu Trivedi said the Congress earlier raised questions over electronic voting machines (EVMs) and is now objecting to the voter list. According to him, raising questions over the voting process after election results has become part of the Congress’s political strategy.

Criticising the Congress’s stand on issues related to the voter list, he said it was not appropriate to constantly cast doubt on the electoral system. After the BJP leader’s statement, the political debate over the election process and the voter list has again come into focus. The opposition has earlier also raised questions over EVMs and the voter list. In this context, the exchange of allegations and counter-allegations between the BJP and the Congress continues on the issue.
