CNN Central News & Network – ITDC India E-Press / ITDC News Bhopal: As part of the vacation creative science workshops, an activity-based session on the topic “The Sun: Studying Our Parent Star” is being organized on May 30, 2025. During the first three days of the workshop, participants were introduced to various concepts related to the Sun, including its structure, source of energy, sunspots and their formation, the solar cycle, and space-based solar observatories such as SOHO and Aditya-L1.
In addition, participants used high-quality telescopes to observe the Sun and its sunspots. They sketched their observations on blank sheets and later compared their drawings with official sunspot images provided by various observatories. On the third day of the workshop, participants also created a model of a pinhole camera to view the image of the Sun safely. A total of 12 students are participating in the workshop.
