CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “Under the direction of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria, Divisional Commercial Manager Pankaj Kumar Dubey conducted a surprise inspection of the catering unit located on platform number 1 at Bhopal railway station.
During the inspection, irregularities were found at a catering stall, including the unavailability of Janata Khana (affordable meals), tea cups being found with less quantity than the prescribed amount, standard tea being sold at a higher rate than the prescribed rate, the 139 number for complaints and suggestions not being prominently displayed at the designated location, and patties and samosas being sold in an uncovered state. Due to these irregularities, a fine of ₹5000 was imposed on the concerned stall. Additionally, instructions were given to the licensed representative employees to rectify these shortcomings, and railway staff were directed to conduct regular inspections of catering stalls.
Station Manager R.K. Mishra, Deputy Station Manager (Commercial) Javed Ansari, Divisional Commercial Inspector Bhopal Vinod Verma, and Catering Inspector Hemraj Meena were present during the inspection.
Passengers are urged to cooperate with the efforts of the railway administration to keep the station premises clean and plastic-free by disposing of waste only in the designated dustbins. Avoid the use of single-use plastic. The railway administration is always committed to providing passengers with clean and high-quality food in the railway premises.”
