CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The award distribution ceremony under Pratibha 2025 was organized at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU). The event was held at Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Auditorium, with MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani as the Chief Guest and senior journalist Prakash Hindustani as the Special Guest. The program was presided over by the university’s Vice Chancellor Vijay Manohar Tiwari.

Winners of 19 cultural and 5 sports competitions were honored during the ceremony. On this occasion, various department publications from Journalism, Communication Research, Media Management, and Indian Languages departments were also released.

MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani congratulated the winning students and noted issues with roads and transportation leading to the university. He assured that these issues would be resolved before the monsoon. He also mentioned that hostels are available on campus and many students live nearby. He informed that 100 electric buses will be launched soon, and 2 to 3 buses will pass through this area to ease student commutes.

Sabnani encouraged students, saying, “Never compromise on your writing; keep its edge sharp.” He also spoke of future tree plantation initiatives, and promised enhanced security in Bishankhedi, including police patrolling to ensure the safety of female students. He added that if needed, issues would be resolved using MLA funds.

Senior journalist Prakash Hindustani shared insights about journalism, emphasizing the importance of knowing when not to speak and what not to say. He advised students to avoid asking clichés like “How are you feeling?” during interviews.

Vice Chancellor Vijay Manohar Tiwari congratulated the winners and announced the launch of a Postgraduate Diploma in Sindhi Language from this year. He specially thanked Director Ravi Tekchandani for this initiative. In his address, he recommended students to read “The Sindh Story” and “The Tears of Sindhu.”

During the ceremony, the late Anil Choubey Memorial Medal 2024 for highest marks was awarded to Khushi Batham from the Film Studies Department. She received ₹21,000 in cash and a certificate. Anil Choubey’s wife Aradhana Choubey was also present on the occasion.

Similarly, the late Sh. Ambaprasad Srivastava Memorial Medal 2024 was awarded to Ms. Shrishti, a student from the Advertising and Public Relations Department.

A special bulletin on the Pratibha competitions, produced by the Electronic Media Department, was showcased. Cultural performances by students Harshita Srivas and Aditi won the audience’s hearts.

Also present were Avinash Vajpayee, Registrar and Chairperson of the Pratibha Organizing Committee, along with heads of departments, conveners, cultural coordinators, and disciplinary committee members. The program was conducted and coordinated by Urvashi Parmar and Run Khobre, the cultural coordinators. A large number of students attended the event.
