Mumbai. Actress Tanisha Mukerji is set to return to the big screen after nearly five years. She will be seen playing an important role in filmmaker Kapil Kaustubh Sharma’s upcoming film ‘Zindagi Phir Bhi Khoobsurat Hai’. Her character in the film passes through different stages of life, while the story gives prominence to relationships, emotions and changing times.
The story of the film is set against the backdrop of Mumbai’s Parsi community. It covers the period from the 1990s to the year 2025. Love, humour and human emotions have been woven into the narrative. The film has been shot in real Parsi homes in South Mumbai and at Dadar Parsi Colony.
Director Kapil Kaustubh Sharma, speaking about the selection of Tanisha, said her character required emotional depth and sensitivity. To give the film an authentic feel, the production team also worked with members of the Parsi community to understand their culture, lifestyle, speech and customs.
Apart from Tanisha, the film features several artistes including Sushmita Mukherjee, Kitu Gidwani, Delnaaz Irani, Tannaz Irani, Dolly Thakore and Ananya Dutta. Kapil Kaustubh Sharma has written the story of the film, besides directing and producing it.
‘Zindagi Phir Bhi Khoobsurat Hai’ is being prepared for screening first at international film festivals. After that, it is planned for release in cinemas.
