CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Tapdha 2026 Sports Competition was successfully organized at UIT-RGPV Bhopal. A total of 10 sports events were conducted during the competition, including cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, tug of war, table tennis, chess, and carrom.
Approximately 550 students from eight engineering branches—Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Petrochemical Engineering—participated in the event.
The closing ceremony was attended by RGPV Vice-Chancellor S.C. Chaubey, UIT-RGPV Bhopal Director S.S. Bhadauria, Sports In-charge Faculty Vijay Gupta, and Sports Coordinator Sunil Dohare. Addressing the students, S.C. Chaubey stated that sports are an essential dimension for the holistic development of youth. Bhadauria emphasized that sports form the foundation of both physical and mental development and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students in the competition.

In the men’s category of cricket, Computer Science Engineering emerged as the winner, while Electronics & Communication Engineering was the runner-up. In the women’s category, Mechanical Engineering secured first place and Civil Engineering finished second.
In men’s football, Information Technology won the championship and Computer Science Engineering was the runner-up, whereas in the women’s football category, Electrical Engineering secured first position and Petrochemical Engineering stood second.
Students from various branches also achieved first and second positions in basketball, volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho, tug of war, carrom, chess, and table tennis.
The competition encouraged sportsmanship, teamwork, and a competitive spirit among students. Winners and runners-up were honored with medals and trophies. The event not only enhanced physical skills but also fostered mental resilience and discipline.
Overall, the event established UIT-RGPV Bhopal as a successful and inspiring platform for sports and student engagement.
