CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Tata Projects and Canada-based MDS Aero Support Corporation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop and deliver advanced aero-engine testing infrastructure in India. The partnership brings together Tata Projects’ infrastructure capabilities with MDS Aero’s specialised expertise in gas turbine engine testing.
The collaboration is aimed at supporting India’s expanding aerospace and propulsion ecosystem by developing advanced testing facilities and associated infrastructure. Tata Projects will lead key infrastructure components, including civil and structural works, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, high-air-pressure systems, HVAC, high-temperature exhaust systems, cooling-water systems and related site infrastructure.
MDS Aero will contribute expertise in the design, engineering, supply, integration, commissioning and lifecycle support of gas turbine engine test facilities and systems. Founded in 1985, the Canadian company has delivered engine-testing projects in more than 27 countries across aviation, defence and industrial applications.
Tata Projects has previously worked on specialised testing facilities associated with strategic programmes, including cryogenic and semi-cryogenic engine test infrastructure. MDS is also involved in India as technology provider and systems integrator for an advanced twin-cell aero-engine development test facility supporting next-generation military propulsion systems.
Rajiv Menon, President and Chief Growth & Strategy Officer at Tata Projects, said the partnership combines complementary capabilities and can contribute to the infrastructure supporting India’s emerging aerospace ecosystem.
