CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The 40th edition of the book ‘Computer Ek Parichay’, a landmark in the spread of computer education, was launched on Saturday at a grand event held at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Center in Bhopal. The Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Mangubhai Patel, inaugurated the book.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Bharat Sharan Singh, Chairperson of the Madhya Pradesh Private University Regulatory Commission; noted science writer and Chancellor Santosh Choubey; and Siddharth Chaturvedi, Chancellor of Scope Global Skills University.
Governor’s Commendation
Governor Patel praised the initiative, saying, “‘Computer Ek Parichay’ brought computer knowledge to Hindi, serving as a powerful medium for social service. The true pride of an educated individual lies in spreading knowledge to others.” He also urged young people to enhance their understanding of the country and society not only through textbooks but also through literature and other books.
Contributions from Other Speakers
Bharat Sharan Singh highlighted, “While Bhaskaracharya was the first to work on supercomputers in India, the information was only available in English. ‘Computer Ek Parichay’ was the first book to provide this knowledge in Hindi.”
Santosh Choubey emphasized that the book aims to promote technical education in Indian languages, stating, “The development of employment and technical education is only possible through Hindi and other Indian languages.”
Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi remarked, “This book became a movement, spreading knowledge across the country.”
Technical Sessions and Shared Experiences
In the technical session, speakers discussed the challenges and experiences of technical writing in Hindi. NIC Senior Director Santosh Shukla shared that in 1988, ‘Computer Ek Parichay’ became the first source of computer knowledge for the masses.
Senior science writer Yateen Chaturvedi and former director of the Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy, Shiv Kumar Awasthi, shed light on the book’s contribution and popularity.
Future Directions
Speakers emphasized promoting technical writing in Hindi and making it accessible to young people. Bhoj University Vice-Chancellor Sanjay Tiwari stated, “Our priority should be to make science and technology accessible to everyone through technical writing in Hindi.”
The event established new dimensions for the importance of technical education in Hindi and its widespread adoption.
