CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani has said that incidents of question paper leaks in competitive examinations can be systematically curbed through greater use of technology. Nilekani, who is leading a high-level task force set up for examination reforms, emphasised the role of technological solutions in making the examination system more secure, transparent and reliable.

Incidents of question paper leaks in competitive examinations have long been a matter of concern in the country. Such incidents affect the fairness of examinations and increase uncertainty over the future of candidates. In addition, when examinations are cancelled or conducted again, students may face financial and mental stress.

According to Nilekani, greater reliance on technology can improve the process of preparing question papers, keeping them secure and delivering them to examination centres. Measures such as digital security systems, restricted access, encryption and monitoring can help maintain the confidentiality of question papers.

However, the use of technology alone does not guarantee that the problem of paper leaks will be completely eliminated. Strong cybersecurity systems, accountability of officials, secure procedures and strict action against irregularities are also necessary.

The objective of examination reforms is to create a system in which all candidates get equal opportunity and retain their trust in the examination process. Effective coordination between technology and administrative reforms can help reduce the possibility of question paper leaks and strengthen the credibility of competitive examinations.
