CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The 152nd meeting of the Official Language Implementation Committee of the Railway Board was held at Rail Bhawan. The meeting was chaired by Satish Kumar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board. The progress of the implementation of the official language in the Ministry of Railways was reviewed during the meeting. Addressing the meeting, Satish Kumar stated that the use and promotion of the Hindi language in various departments of the railways is continuously increasing. He added that commendable work is being done in the Ministry of Railways in Hindi.

For the year 2023, the Ministry of Railways was awarded the ‘Kirti Puraskar’ by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, for outstanding work in Hindi within Indian Railways.

Satish Kumar also mentioned that in August 2024, the Railway Board office celebrated the birth anniversaries of novel emperor Munshi Premchand, national poet Maithili Sharan Gupt, and renowned satirist Shri Harishankar Parsai to promote Hindi. Additionally, on August 22, a seminar on the topic “Application of Artificial Intelligence in the Field of Hindi” was organized.

He informed that in celebration of Hindi Day on September 14, a two-week Hindi fortnight is being observed from September 14 to 27 for the officers and employees of the Board office. During this period, several programs such as a Hindi note and draft writing competition, essay competition, Hindi workshop, seminar, and poetry-based Antakshari are being organized.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Railway Board also released the Railway’s official language magazine. Members of the Railway Board, heads of various undertakings, and other senior officials participated in the meeting.
