CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The 35th All India Railway Protection Force Wrestling Championship 2024 is being held at West Central Railway, Jabalpur. On Sunday, matches were organized in the men’s categories of 70 kg, 79 kg, and 86 kg (freestyle).

Senior officials including Senior Divisional Security Commissioner/Jabalpur Mohammad Munawar Khan, Divisional Security Commissioner/Kota Shri Alakunta Naveen Kumar, Assistant Security Commissioner/Kota Chetan Jichkar, Assistant Security Commissioner/Jabalpur Sanjeev Rana, Assistant Security Commissioner/Jabalpur B.P. Kushwaha, and Inspector S.P. Singh were present during the matches played at the railway stadium.

70 kg Freestyle Category:

The matches were played among wrestlers Dharmendra (West Central Railway), Deepak (Northern Railway), Mohit (North Western Railway), Naveen (Northern Railway), Preetam (Railway Protection Special Force), Balkishan Yadav (North Central Railway), Naveen (Railway Protection Special Force), Rajiv Gound (North Eastern Railway), and Vimlesh (North Eastern Railway). In the semifinals, Naveen (Northern Railway) defeated Mohit (North Western Railway) 10-00, and Naveen (Railway Protection Special Force) defeated Rajiv Gound (North Eastern Railway) by a walkover. In the final, Naveen (Northern Railway) defeated Naveen (Railway Protection Special Force) 10-00 to secure first place. In the 70 kg freestyle category, Naveen (Northern Railway) came first, Naveen (Railway Protection Special Force) came second, and Preetam (Railway Protection Special Force) and Rajiv Gound (North Eastern Railway) shared third place.

79 kg Freestyle Category:

The matches were played among wrestlers Rishi (Railway Protection Special Force), Ashish (Northern Railway), Rajesh Yadav (North Eastern Railway), Ramnath Yadav (North Eastern Railway), Shriram Yadav (West Central Railway), Ravikumar (Northern Railway), Arvind Parkhe (Central Railway), Deepak (Western Railway), and Jagmendar (Railway Protection Special Force). In the semifinals, Jagmendar (Railway Protection Special Force) defeated Arvind Parkhe (Central Railway) 11-00, and Rishi (Railway Protection Special Force) defeated Ashish (Northern Railway) by a walkover. In the final, Jagmendar (Railway Protection Special Force) defeated Rishi (Railway Protection Special Force) by a walkover to secure first place. In the 79 kg freestyle category, Jagmendar (Railway Protection Special Force) came first, Rishi (Railway Protection Special Force) came second, and Ravikumar (Northern Railway) and Ashish (Northern Railway) shared third place.

86 kg Freestyle Category:

The matches were played among wrestlers Sajjan Singh (Railway Protection Special Force), Praveen (Northern Railway), Pradeep Singh (North Eastern Railway), Nahardeo Yadav (North Eastern Railway), Gaurav Pawar (West Central Railway), Dharmendra (Northern Railway), Ajit (West Central Railway), and Dinesh (Railway Protection Special Force). In the semifinals, Nahardeo Yadav (North Eastern Railway) defeated Pradeep Singh (North Eastern Railway) by a walkover, and Dinesh (Railway Protection Special Force) defeated Sajjan Singh (Railway Protection Special Force) by a walkover. In the final, Nahardeo Yadav (North Eastern Railway) defeated Dinesh (Railway Protection Special Force) by a walkover to secure first place. In the 86 kg freestyle category, Nahardeo Yadav (North Eastern Railway) came first, Dinesh (Railway Protection Special Force) came second, and Dharmendra (Northern Railway) and Sajjan Singh (Railway Protection Special Force) shared third place.

On Monday, the final matches in the men’s 61 kg weight category and all weight categories in the women’s division will be held, concluding the competition. The closing ceremony will be held in the esteemed presence of Chief Guest General Manager Shobhana Bandopadhyay, Inspector General of Railway Protection Force Ajay Sadani, and other senior officials.
