CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The 80th meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Bank), Bhopal, was organized by the Central Bank of India and held at Hotel Courtyard Marriott. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Tarsem Singh Jeera, Regional Head of Central Bank of India, Bhopal Regional Office. The meeting was graced by Mr. Harish Singh Chauhan, Assistant Director and Head of Office, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Official Language, Regional Implementation Office (Central Region), who attended as the chief guest.
In addition to committee members, the meeting was attended by Mr. Sunil Kumar, Chief General Manager of NABARD, Mr. Baghray Majhi, Regional Manager of Life Insurance Corporation of India, Central Regional Office, Mr. Sandeep Kulkarni, Deputy General Manager of the Reserve Bank of India, and other office heads. The meeting was conducted by Mr. Rajeev Tiwari, Chief Manager (Official Language), who served as the Secretary of the Committee.
Assistant Director Mr. Harish Singh Chauhan from the Official Language Department instructed member offices to keep their official language-related documents updated and ensure that the data they submit is accurate. Mr. Tarsem Singh Jeera, Chairman of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Bank), Bhopal, and Regional Head of Central Bank of India, congratulated and extended best wishes to all banks, insurance companies, members who excelled in Hindi work, and those who won awards in various competitions.
In his address, Mr. Jeera emphasized that Hindi is understood and spoken by the majority of people in our country. As our nation emerges as a strong economy on the global stage, it is crucial to communicate government policies and development plans effectively to all citizens in a language they understand, which makes Hindi essential. He further noted that Hindi not only serves as a medium for conveying thoughts and emotions but also embodies the identity of the nation.
The results of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Bank) Bhopal’s Official Language Award Shield Competition for the year 2023 were announced, and the winners were awarded. In the Bank and Financial Institutions category, Bank of Baroda received the first prize, Indian Overseas Bank the second prize, Indian Bank the third prize, and the Punjab and Sind Bank and Canara Bank Zonal Offices were given encouragement awards. In the Insurance Company category, Life Insurance Corporation of India – Regional Office won the first prize, Life Insurance Corporation of India – Divisional Office won the second prize, United India Insurance Company Limited won the third prize, and New India Assurance Company and Agricultural Insurance Company of India Limited were given encouragement awards.
