CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal celebrated International Women’s Day by honoring the remarkable contributions of women in all fields and reaffirming its commitment to gender equality and women empowerment. The Director of AIIMS Bhopal, Ajay Singh, who was the chief guest on the occasion, highlighted the extraordinary achievements of women and emphasized their invaluable role in society. He applauded their natural intelligence and wisdom, urging for more appreciation and respect towards them.
Professor Singh emphasized the importance of developing values of respect and equality towards women in their sons, to contribute to a more just society. Deputy Director (Administration), Colonel Ajit Kumar, shed light on the significance of investing in women’s education, health, and empowerment for overall societal progress, praising the theme of the year “Investing in Women; Progress at Pace.”
The program commenced with a welcome speech by Professor K. Pushpalata, Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, who provided insights into various activities of the department. A thought-provoking panel discussion was held on this year’s theme “Investing in Women; Progress at Pace,” with the participation of Monica Malik, Member of the Madhya Pradesh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, and Archana Mishra, Senior Joint Director of Maternal Health in the NHM MP. Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Prabhakar Tiwari commended the efforts of Professor Ajay Singh in advancing public health and medical education in Madhya Pradesh.
He highlighted the beneficial collaboration between AIIMS Bhopal and the State Health Department, which has facilitated the training of doctors from state hospitals at AIIMS Bhopal, resulting in improved healthcare services across the region. Professor Ajay Singh acknowledged the creativity of the winners of a poster competition held on this occasion, praising their contributions to the theme of International Women’s Day 2024. Professor Singh also presented the “Women Achievers Award” to Monica Malik and Archana Mishra. The event, held at AIIMS Bhopal, saw participation from distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, residents, students, nursing staff, technical personnel, and other officials.
