CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The All India Inter-University Gatka (Men & Women) Competition 2023-24, organized by LNCT University, Kolar Road, Bhopal, under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities, has been successfully concluded. In the women’s category, Punjab University, Patiala, secured the overall first position with 44 points, followed by Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, at the second position with 30 points, and Chandigarh University, Patiala, at the third position with 14 points.
In the men’s category, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, claimed the first position with 39 points, followed by Chandigarh University, Patiala, at the second position with 23 points, and Punjab University, Patiala, at the third position with 22 points.
LNCT University, Bhopal, secured bronze medals in the Men’s Single Stick Team Free Style event with the team comprising Kuldeep Mishra, Nilesh Mishra, Mukesh, and Anshul Sabner.
In the Women’s category, LNCT University, Bhopal, won bronze medals in the Women’s Single Stick Team Full Strike event with the team comprising Kashish Singh, Sonali, Renu, and Priya Thakur.
During the closing ceremony of the competition, Dr. Shweta Choukse, Pro-Chancellor of LNCT University, Indore, Dr. N.K. Thapak, Vice-Chancellor of LNCT University, and Pankaj Kumar Jain, Sports Director of LNCT University, honored the teams securing first, second, and third positions with medals and trophies. Tournament Director Simranjeet Singh and the referees playing a crucial role in the competition were also acknowledged and honored.
