CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Wholesale inflation increased to a 16-month high of 3.36% in June! In February 2023, the wholesale inflation rate was 3.85%. In May, wholesale inflation rose to a 15-month high of 2.61%. Before that, it was 1.26% in April 2024, which was also a 13-month high.

Food inflation has risen from 7.40% in May to 8.68%! Meanwhile, the inflation rate for daily essential items has increased from 7.20% to 8.80%. Under the BJP-led central administration, life is becoming increasingly difficult for the common people. Villagers, poor farmers, and laborers are the most troubled. The Prime Minister, attending a friend’s lavish wedding celebration, seems to have forgotten that while millions are being spent to display opulence, a large population is suffering from hunger.

It has become essential for the Narendra Modi-led central government to develop a planned strategy to address rising inflation and social inequality.
