CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Ministry of Education, Government of India, organized the Yugadi festival at the campus of the Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal. This festival was organized to mark the beginning of the Chaitra Shukla Paksha and the New Year. On this occasion, Shrinivas Varkhedi, the Vice-Chancellor of the Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi, presided over the event, and prominent guests including Radhavallabh Tripathi, former Vice-Chancellor of the National Sanskrit Institute, New Delhi, and Hansadhar Jha, Director of Saraswati Guest House, Central Sanskrit University, Rajiv Gandhi Campus, Shringveri, were present.

The event was coordinated under the guidance of the campus director, Ramakant Pandey. The chief guest, Prof. Radhavallabh Tripathi, extended New Year greetings and spoke about the two types of time – unbroken time and broken time, emphasizing agricultural activities carried out according to Vedic astrology. Saraswati guest Prof. Hansadhar Jha discussed the impact of the transition of the sun from one zodiac sign to another during the Makar Sankranti and also shared information about the effects of eclipses and the appropriate actions during these times.

During the event, readings from the Shrirajabhoj Panchang were done, providing insights into the auspicious events of the year by Prof. Sarv Narayan Jha, Director of the Lucknow Campus. Prof. Ishwar Bhatt, Head of the Department of Jyotish, Jaipur Campus, shared information about the predictions for all twelve zodiac signs for the entire year. Prof. PVV Subrahmanyam from the Devprayag Campus talked about the dos and don’ts during eclipses and their effects. Assistant Acharya Anil Kumar provided important information about the festivals of the year.

Prof. Shrinivas Varkhedi, Vice-Chancellor of the Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi, chaired the event and urged everyone to adopt the Indian calendar in their daily lives and commit to reading the Panchang regularly to understand Indian culture better. The verbal welcome of the guests was done by the campus director, Ramakant Pandey, and a vote of thanks was given by the director of the Jaipur Campus, Sudesh Kumar Sharma. The event was conducted by Assistant Acharya Bhoopendra Pandey and Ms. Chitranshi Sharma.
