CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In the run-up to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024, with the aim of encouraging maximum voter turnout, the Central Communications Bureau’s regional office in Chhindwara organized a voter awareness program in Ambada, Parasia Development Block. In this program, Publicity Officer Ram Sahay Prajapati explained that various activities are being organized by the department to raise awareness among the general public to increase the percentage of voting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. As part of this series of events, activities such as rangoli, chair races, question-answer competitions, rallies, exhibitions, and dialogue programs were organized. He informed that every voter should be aware that in case their voter ID is not available on time, they can still cast their vote by carrying any one of 12 alternative photo identity cards. On this occasion, social worker Shyamlal Rao emphasized to the present youth the importance of voting in democracy, stating that even one vote can contribute to forming a good government. On this occasion, N.V.C.’s officer K. Urmalia explained that to form a good government, every voter can use their vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on April 19 without greed, allure, or fear.
Furthermore, the manner in which the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) used at the polling booth is to be utilized was explained to the rural populace through posters. In the program, Ashok Mishra, Sanjeev Bhavarkar, Shankar Ram Prajapati, and Manohar Prajapati provided information related to voter awareness to the attendees.
During the program, a question-and-answer session related to voting was conducted in an interesting manner by Publicity Officer Ram Sahay Prajapati. Participants who answered correctly and other participants of various competitions were felicitated by the department. A large number of rural people, youth, women, members of self-help groups, and new voters participated in the program. After the event, the rural attendees led a voter awareness rally, waving green flags, escorted by the guests for a village tour. The program concluded with attendees pledging for voter awareness.
