CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the second day, a lecture session and a discussion session were organized featuring retired Major General Ajay Chaturvedi, where Dr. Anjana Chaturvedi, Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, Dr. Aditi Chaturvedi, and Santosh Chaube were prominently involved. In his keynote address, former Lieutenant General Ajay Chaturvedi emphasized that instead of imposing their ambitions on children, parents should listen to them and create an enabling environment where children can demonstrate their talents effectively. He stated that children first learn within their families, then in schools, and subsequently in society. Therefore, he stressed the importance of nurturing an environment that fosters values and confidence. He also encouraged youth to adopt hobbies, as these cultivate innovative skills crucial for success in their careers.

Dr. Anjana highlighted the role of parents in keeping children away from social isolation. She urged parents to actively engage children in community programs, as these are spaces where they can learn about their history, traditions, and customs up close. However, she noted a lack of enthusiasm among many adults to involve children in such social activities.

Dr. Aditi discussed the trend of youth distancing themselves from their traditions and suggested reconnecting youth with traditions based on scientific and logical reasoning. She emphasized that if we explain the scientific logic behind practices like wearing bindis or bangles, youth are more likely to embrace them. Digital media can be effective in bridging the gap between society and youth’s cultural roots. Acknowledging that youth spend considerable time on platforms like Instagram, she proposed presenting information in engaging formats like reels to capture their attention. Additionally, Dr. Aditi recommended using websites to disseminate information about entrepreneurship and suggested a webinar series to inspire and support youth entrepreneurship.
