CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The culmination of the cleanliness fortnight at AIIMS Bhopal included street plays and an awareness session on infection control and biomedical waste management. On this occasion, the Director and CEO of AIIMS Bhopal, Professor Ajay Singh, was the chief guest. The program was attended by Mr. P.C. Prasad, Director of PMSSY (AMOHFW) along with officials, members of the faculty, nursing staff, students, patients, and visitors. Professor Ajay Singh expressed satisfaction with the innovative efforts to spread awareness through street plays and discussed its effectiveness in engaging and educating the audience. He urged everyone present to make efforts to disseminate this awareness beyond the institution, reaching out to colleagues, friends, and family members.
The street plays focused on hand hygiene. Presented by nursing officers from the Department of Cardiology CTVS, the street play highlighted the importance of hand hygiene in disease prevention. Following this, the Hospital Infection Control and Bio-Medical Waste Management Committee (HIC&BWM) organized a practical training session on infection control and biomedical waste management. Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, CMHO Bhopal, emphasized the importance of regular sensitization, particularly for newly recruited doctors and nursing officers, to ensure safe procedural practices and skilled biomedical waste management. Around 300 doctors and nursing staff participated in this session, providing an opportunity to learn and contribute to the best practices in infection control and waste management.
