CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “In Bhopal, a lecture was organized on three new laws notified in the criminal justice system – the Indian Penal Code, the Indian Citizenship Act, and the Indian Evidence Act, sponsored by the Indian Standards Bureau in the Department of Biosciences at NITTR. The keynote speaker was the Director-General of CBI, IPS Anil Kishor Yadav, while the conference was chaired by Professor CC Tripathi, Director of NITTR.
In his address, Mr. Anil Kishor Yadav elaborated on all three laws extensively. He said that these laws would replace the Indian Penal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code, and the Indian Evidence Act of 1872 in the contemporary Indian legal system. The purpose of all three laws is to redefine various offenses, prescribe punishments for them, and completely overhaul the criminal justice system in the country.
These three laws will come into effect from July 1st. Addressing everyone, Professor CC Tripathi, Director of NITTR, said that these laws, while prioritizing the rights of citizens, will prioritize the safety of women and children. This new justice system of modern India empowered by state-of-the-art technologies will work towards providing transparent and prompt justice to the citizens. Officers and employees of the institution participated in this event. Prof. Ravi Gupta was the coordinator of this program.”
