CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The distribution ceremony of the Talent and Talent Plus awards, along with the inauguration of the “MCU Medium Band,” was organized in the Ganesh Shankar Auditorium of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication. The ceremony was presided over by the University Chancellor, Mr. G. Suresh. The Chief Guest was Lt. Colonel Ashish Agrawal, Director of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bhopal.
In this grand event, 19 cultural and 3 sports competitions including cricket, chess, and carrom were held, and the winners were felicitated. For the first time in the university’s history, a band named “MCU Medium Band” was formed, inaugurated by Prof. Suresh, Chief Guest Agrawal, and Secretary Avinash Vajpayee. The band’s logo was also unveiled during the occasion. The MCU Medium Band presented performances rooted in Indian values and traditions, marking a significant cultural addition.
During the event, Chancellor Mr. G. Suresh announced the organization of “Talent Super” next year, inviting media universities and institutions from across the country to participate. He also announced that affiliated study institutions of MCU would also host talent events from the next academic year. Chancellor Suresh praised and congratulated all the winners, extending his best wishes.
Colonel Ashish Agrawal, the chief guest of the ceremony, congratulated all the winners of Talent 2024 and Talent Plus, expressing his belief that the university would become number one through talent. He appreciated the new identity the university gained with the arrival of Professor Suresh, expressing his delight at witnessing the well-equipped green campus and feeling proud.
Media Management Department’s newspaper “Him Tarangini,” Journalism Department’s newspaper “Vikalp,” and the unveiling of the poster of “Hum Sabke Ram” were also conducted during the event by Chancellor Suresh and Colonel Agrawal. The event also commemorated the memory of the former Secretary of the University, late Shri Anil Choube.
