CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal has become the first AIIMS institute in the country to start an Emergency OPD service. Inaugurating this Emergency OPD, AIIMS Bhopal’s Executive Director, Professor Ajay Singh, stated that timely and appropriate treatment can save many lives. This Emergency OPD will provide patients with swift medical services. Additionally, patients receive satisfaction from better treatment at a lower cost. Professor Singh emphasized that we can offer better healthcare services to patients by effectively managing the available resources.
The Emergency OPD was initiated by the Department of Trauma and Emergency Medicine on the occasion of “Emergency Medicine Day.” During this event, Department Heads Dr. Yunus and Dr. Bhupeshwari provided specific information on the impact of climate change on emergency medicine, particularly focusing on illnesses that occur during hot weather. The Department of Trauma and Emergency Medicine also used a play to demonstrate the symptoms of heat stroke and ways to prevent it.
Dr. Rashmi Verma, in charge of the Emergency OPD, mentioned that this Emergency OPD will be available 24/7, seven days a week. On this occasion, Shivansh Gaur, a sixth-grade student, presented an excellent comic on ways to stay safe from the heat, which was later distributed among patients and their families.
