CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: General Manager Shobhana Bandyopadhyay conducted a footplate inspection of the Jabalpur-Rani Kamalapati rail section on the Rewa-Rani Kamalapati Vande Bharat train. She inspected various stations, level crossings, and bridges on this rail section, along with all safety equipment of the Vande Bharat train, and closely examined the passenger amenities and catering services provided on the train. She also interacted with the passengers during the journey.

Accompanied by key and senior officials from the West Central Railway headquarters, Shobhana Bandyopadhyay inspected stations, rail tracks, OHE (Overhead Equipment), bridges, level crossings, and signaling systems along the Jabalpur-Rani Kamalapati rail section. In the driver’s cab of the Vande Bharat train, she conducted a footplate inspection with the loco pilot and assistant loco pilot, focusing on the safety equipment and other operational aspects of the train and rail section. This included a detailed inspection of the traction, propulsion system, brake system, internal and external automatic doors, fire extinguishers, and other safety-related equipment. Additionally, she reviewed the train’s modern safety technology, such as CCTV cameras, emergency talk-back units, interlock doors, vehicle control computer systems, and the electro-pneumatic brake system.

During the inspection, the General Manager also examined the passenger amenities and cleanliness available on the Vande Bharat train. She closely inspected features such as the 180-degree rotating seats in the Executive Coach, onboard Wi-Fi infotainment, GPS-based passenger information system, 32-inch screens for passenger entertainment, LED lighting, bio-vacuum toilets, attractive interiors, and touch-free facilities, including those designed for differently-abled passengers.

Additionally, she inspected the catering services on the Vande Bharat train, including the availability of hot meals in hot cases, hot and cold beverages, and the mini pantry facilities. While traveling on the Vande Bharat train, the General Manager discussed the train’s facilities, catering, and cleanliness with the passengers and gathered their feedback.
