CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Rabindranath Tagore University and collaborating organizations inaugurated the grand International Research and Innovation Conference, Research Summit 2024. The theme for this year is “Developed India – New India”. The chief guest for the occasion was Professor K. Narsimha Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University, Hyderabad. Distinguished guests included Prof. R. K. Badyal, Director, Satyam Institute of Engineering and Technology, Amritsar, Punjab, Usha Nair, Member Secretary, State Level NIAC Cell, RN Tagore University, Chancellor Santosh Chaube, Vice-Chancellor Sangeeta Johari, and Professor T. Ravi Kiran, in charge of the Research Summit. The program was presided over by the Chancellor of the University, Santosh Chaube.
Professor K. Narsimha Reddy expressed his satisfaction, stating that while he had participated in numerous summits before, this was his first time at a research summit, which he found to be a brilliant idea. He highlighted India’s significant contribution to research and innovation since ancient times and provided examples of Swaminathan’s role in making India self-sufficient in agriculture and Kurien’s pioneering efforts in the White Revolution, which made India the largest milk producer globally. He emphasized the importance of India’s scientists and researchers in the nation’s progress and stressed the need to include humanitarian values in research and innovation.
Santosh Chaube remarked on India’s historical focus on research orientation since ancient times, citing examples of Charak, Sushrut, and Aryabhatt. He encouraged the youth not to succumb to despair but to recognize their immense potential, asserting that India has always been and will remain a world leader. He emphasized the need to focus more on rural areas along with urban areas and praised the New Education Policy for nearly eliminating the language barrier. He also highlighted the significant role played by the IT sector in the computer revolution in India, reaching every Panchayat to provide computer education. He urged everyone to become innovative thinkers and stressed the importance of including human values in research.
Prof. R. K. Badyal addressed the researchers, stating that research and innovation are the backbone of a developed India. He advised researchers to focus on the 3Cs: curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
This event will undoubtedly pave the way for realizing the dream of a developed India. Usha Nair emphasized the need for our education system to focus on skill-based learning, noting the global necessity for innovation and research. She advocated for continuous innovation in all fields and commended India’s rapid progress in this regard. She urged everyone to prepare themselves for research and innovation.
