CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “The Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), a leading central institution in Bhopal, has inducted 200 new students into its flagship MBA programs in Forestry Management and Sustainability Management for the academic session 2024-26. This group of emerging green managers will represent 22 regions (states and union territories) across the country, including students from diverse backgrounds in engineering, science, commerce, and arts, with a balanced gender ratio of 40% female students.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Aseem Srivastava, PCCF and HoFF of Madhya Pradesh. Distinguished alumni Mr. Rajaram Shankar, Mr. Nikesh Kumar Sinha, and Prof. R. Srinivasan were also present as special guests.

In his inaugural address, IIFM Director Dr. K. Ravichandran said, “In the next two years, when you graduate, you will be among the most sought-after professionals in the country. This two-year program enhances the practical, functional, and domain expertise of students.” Highlighting the course structure, Dr. Ravichandran added, “After these two years, you will emerge as professionals with deep understanding, analytical capabilities, and creativity.”

To mark and commemorate this special day, the newly admitted students, along with the IIFM family, participated in a tree-planting campaign under India’s “Mission Life” initiative, “#Plant4Mother,” leaving their green footprints.

During this two-week program, experts from the fields of environment, climate change, sustainability, development, corporate, business, banking, non-banking finance, and consulting will interact with the new students. This will provide the students with the opportunity to learn about these fields, orient them towards emerging professional opportunities, and assist them in their academic pursuits at the Indian Institute of Forest Management over the next two years.

Additionally, the future green managers will be introduced to the rich biodiversity and natural heritage of Madhya Pradesh through field visits to the Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve and Bhimbetka.”
