CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Ministry of Railways has released the details of the expenditures and receipts allocated to all zonal railways through the regular budget Pink Book. In this context, the highlights of the regular budget 2024-25 for West Central Railway (WCR) are as follows. WCR has been allocated a net plan outlay of ₹9491 crore in the regular budget 2024-25. This is an increase from the interim budget 2024-25 in February, which had a net plan outlay of ₹9398 crore, thus receiving ₹93 crore more. The budget allocations under the regular budget 2024-25 for various projects and other expenses of WCR are as follows:
New Lines – ₹2480 crore
Doubling/Tripling – ₹1372 crore
Traffic Facilities-Yard Remodeling – ₹140 crore
Road Safety Work (Level Crossings) – ₹15 crore
Road Safety Work (RUB/ROB) – ₹627 crore
Track Renewal – ₹970 crore
Bridge Work/Tunnel Work – ₹121 crore
Signal and Telecommunication – ₹236 crore
Electrical Work TRD – ₹105 crore
Passenger Amenities – ₹379 crore
Factories and Production Units – ₹103 crore
Key allocations for the construction of major new lines and projects include:
₹850 crore for the Lalitpur-Satna, Rewa-Singrauli, and Mahoba-Khajuraho (541 km) new rail lines.
₹523 crore for the Ramganj Mandi – Bhopal (262 km) new rail line.
₹1107 crore for the Indore – Jabalpur (342 km) new rail line.
₹200 crore for the Budni-Barkhera third line.
₹400 crore for the Katni-Singrauli (261 km) doubling.
₹350 crore for the Katni-Bina (278 km) third line.
₹300 crore for the Katni Grade Separator Viaduct (21.5 km).
Other significant projects include:
₹15 crore for coaching terminals at Madan Mahal and Howbagh stations.
₹75 crore for foot overbridges/high-level platform works at stations.
₹201 crore for station upgrade works.
₹36 crore for the upgradation/modernization of goods sheds.
