CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Dr. V.S. Singh Emphasizes the Important Role of Teachers in Every Field of Knowledge at Guru Purnima Celebration Dr. V.S. Singh stated that the role of a teacher is crucial in every field of knowledge, that the relationship between a teacher and a student is the most sacred, and that maintaining the teacher-student tradition is a current necessity. These thoughts were expressed by retired teachers at a grand ceremony held on Guru Purnima at Babulal Gaur Government Postgraduate College, BHEL.

 

The grand ceremony at the BHEL College on Guru Purnima was attended by retired Additional Director of Higher Education Dr. V.S. Singh, Dr. U.C. Jain, Dr. H.K. Tiwari, retired Principal Dr. Indu Prabha Tiwari, Dr. Navneet Srivastava, retired DGM of SBI Mr. Gopal Rathore, and social worker Ms. Shobha Pandey. They were honored with shawls, garlands, and tilak by Janbhagidari President Mr. Barelal Ahirwar and Principal Dr. Sanjay Jain. On this occasion, students also welcomed and honored all the teachers with tilak and bouquets.

Dr. V.S. Singh spoke about the significance of Guru Purnima, the teacher-student tradition, the role of ethics in education, and the role of moral education in the current education system. He emphasized that the role of a teacher is crucial in every field of knowledge and that dedication, commitment, and a sense of responsibility towards students make a teacher great. Dr. U.C. Jain noted that maintaining the teacher-student tradition is necessary in today’s era. Dr. H.K. Tiwari highlighted that despite the availability of advanced technological tools, the importance of a teacher has only increased. Dr. Indu Prabha Tiwari explained the need for ethics in education, comparing a teacher to a guardian, a conveyor, and a provider.

At the beginning of the program, the Principal expressed gratitude to all the invitees for their attendance and acknowledged their notable contributions to the institution. Janbhagidari President Mr. Barelal Ahirwar illustrated the teacher’s role using a couplet by Kabir, likening it to a potter who molds pots (students). Third-year BA student Shreya Vishwakarma presented an original poem highlighting the teacher-student relationship. The event, organized by Dr. Sheela Kumar, was conducted by Dr. Samta Jain and the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Anupama Yadav. The ceremony saw enthusiastic participation from the college staff and students.
