CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Ajay Singh, the Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, addressed the residents and students who were protesting in connection with the incident at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, extending Raksha Bandhan greetings. Professor Singh reassured the protestors, stating that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, is closely monitoring the situation and actively working towards a resolution. Additionally, AIIMS Bhopal is also making efforts to recover from the situation caused by the protests.

Professor Singh emphasized that the safety of doctors is a highly sensitive issue and assured them that their safety is the institution’s responsibility. He promised to take all necessary steps to ensure their security. He also appealed to the residents and students, reminding them that protests should not just involve stopping work. As doctors, they must always remember that no patient should return without treatment because of their actions. He urged them to conduct their protests in a way that minimizes the impact on hospital operations so that patients can continue to receive care. Professor Singh expressed solidarity with the protestors and assured them that he would make every effort to meet their demands within the framework of the rules.

Later, as part of the “One Tree in Mother’s Name” campaign, Professor Singh planted a sapling in sympathy with the young doctor who was a victim at RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata. The tree-planting event was attended by protesting residents, students, other faculty members, and officials.
