CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Sanskrit Week Festival was inaugurated at the Bhopal campus of Central Sanskrit University. This event is being held under the guidance of Prof. Srinivas Varkhedi, Vice-Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi. The inaugural session featured Prof. Raghuveer Prasad Goswami from Ramanand Sanskrit College, Lalghati, Bhopal as the chief guest, with the session chaired by Prof. Ramakant Pandey, Director of Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal. Special guests included Prof. Subodh Sharma, Head of the Vedas and Vedangas Department, and Prof. Bharat Bhushan, Head of the Jyotish Department.

In his address, Prof. Raghuveer Prasad Goswami emphasized the importance of studying Sanskrit to preserve Sanatan Dharma, noting that Sanskrit is the foundation of Indian knowledge traditions. He urged students to communicate in Sanskrit.

Prof. Ramakant Pandey, in his presidential address, stated that all knowledge is embedded in Sanskrit and that ancient scriptures should be connected with modernity to contribute to human and global development.

Prof. Subodh Sharma, Head of the Vyakarana Department and special guest, remarked on the growing influence of the Sanskrit language and encouraged the daily incorporation of Sanskrit into personal conduct. He also presented an overview of the events planned for Sanskrit Week.

The guests were verbally welcomed by Dr. Kripashankar Sharma, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks from Prof. Somnath Sahu, the coordinator of the Sanskrit Week Festival organizing committee.
