CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress / ITDC News Bhopal: Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who also happens to host a health podcast, is being criticised for allegedly ‘misleading and misinforming’ her 33 million Instagram followers about ‘detoxing the liver’. A little while ago, a doctor, who goes by the username of TheLiverDoc on X, posted a video of Samantha from her podcast, Take 20, and alleged that the clip in question is ‘misleading’ people.
In the video, Samantha and her guest are seen discussing liver health and how consuming dandelion can provide benefits for the same. TheLiverDoctor shared a lengthy note slamming Samantha, a section of which read, “This is Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a film star, misleading and misinforming over 33 million followers on ‘detoxing the liver’. The podcast features some random health illiterate ‘Wellness Coach and Performance Nutritionist’, who has absolutely no clue how the human body works and has the most rubbish content on his Instagram handle, including complete nonsense such as herbs to manage autoimmune disorders. I am not sure how people with massive following very easily figure out the worst, science-illiterate people for them to invite to talk on science, medicine and health on ‘health podcasts’ that are in fact nothing to do with health or medicine.”
The doctor continued, “It’s just two science illiterates sharing their ignorance. The Wellness Coach guy is not even a real medical person and would probably have no idea about functions of the liver. He says, the best herb to improve liver health is Dandelion. I am a liver doctor, a trained and registered hepatologist diagnosing and treating liver disease patients since one decade and this is complete and utter BS (sic).”
Samantha Ruth Prabhu had taken a break from acting last year, citing health issues as reason. The actor disclosed she was diagnosed with autoimmune disease, Myositis. On the work front, she was last seen in the Telugu movie, Kushi, alongside Vijay Deverakonda.
