CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the third day of the 21-day National Workshop held at the Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal campus, the first session featured subject expert Shivram Sharma from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He explained the Alamban Vibhavas described in the Bhavprakash text, illustrating the concept of Alamban elements in theatrical Rasas (emotions), thereby enlightening the participants.

In the second session, Dr. Ramakant Pandey, Director of Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal campus, revealed the Vyabhichari Bhavas (transitory emotions) written in the Bhavprakash text. He elaborated on how these emotions manifest in the public. He provided a detailed explanation and a comparative study of the Vyabhichari Bhavas described in Bharata Muni’s Natyashastra and Sharadatanaya’s Bhavprakash. Dr. Pandey explained that the Bhavprakash authored by Sharadatanaya is a comprehensive lexicon of the emotions residing in the human mind. This text is extremely important from the perspective of theatrical practice and acting. The depth of emotions identified in Bhavprakash unveils new dimensions of Indian philosophy. Theatre practitioners should focus on the practical aspects of this text to enhance the effectiveness of their performances.

In the third and fourth sessions, Kalyani Bhagre and Dr. Channavasava Swami guided the participants through the application and practice of the fundamental principles of theatre based on these emotions.
