Lucknow. Political statements have begun to intensify in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. Amid this, the state’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has made a major claim about the Bharatiya Janata Party’s victory. He said the BJP will win more than 300 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Maurya also said that whether the Samajwadi Party and the Congress contest together or separately, it will make no difference to the BJP’s election strategy.
Development and good governance made the basis
According to an Aaj Tak report, Keshav Prasad Maurya expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory in the upcoming election and described development, security and good governance as the party’s key issues. He said public support in the state remains in favour of the BJP and that the party is moving towards forming the government once again.
Targeting opposition parties, Maurya said that even if the SP and the Congress unite, they will not pose a challenge to the BJP. According to him, the BJP is proceeding with the target of defeating opposition parties and securing more than 300 seats in the upcoming election.
Parties preparing for the 2027 elections
With Assembly elections due next year in Uttar Pradesh, political parties have stepped up their preparations. The BJP is aiming to return to power for a third consecutive term, while the Samajwadi Party is working to strengthen its election strategy through its PDA – the Backward, Dalit and Minority – equation. The Congress is also trying to expand its political presence in the state.

Keshav Maurya’s “300-plus” slogan reflects the BJP’s electoral confidence. However, it is his political claim, and the actual number of seats in the election will become clear only after the voters’ verdict.
