CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A three-day training program for doctors and nursing officers was initiated at AIIMS. This training program is being conducted to manage common emergencies, burns, and trauma cases at the primary level. During the inauguration, AIIMS Executive Director (Dr.) Ajay Singh emphasized that time is of utmost importance in trauma and emergency situations, particularly the first hour, which is referred to as the “golden hour.” Professor Singh stated that it is not necessary to know everything or be able to do everything, but it is essential that whatever actions are taken improve the patient’s condition and ensure that they receive better treatment when referred to another department. A timely response can give a patient a new lease on life. Any doubts should be resolved without hesitation.

This training program is being organized by the Trauma and Emergency Medicine Department of AIIMS in collaboration with the National Health Mission of Madhya Pradesh. More than 35 nursing officers from primary health centers across various districts of Madhya Pradesh are participating in the program, which will run until the 12th. These nursing officers will receive primary-level information from experts in various departments. Approximately 500 doctors and nursing officers will be trained through this program. A total of 17 such training programs will be conducted, continuing until January 2025.

Dr. Mohammad Yunus, head of the Trauma and Emergency Medicine Department at AIIMS, highlighted the significance of these training programs, stating that after being trained here, these doctors and nursing officers will be able to manage burn and trauma cases more effectively at various health centers across the state. This will result in quicker recovery and saved lives. These trained doctors and nursing officers will then go back to their respective health centers and train others, ensuring effective management of burn and trauma cases on a larger scale.
