CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A three-day training program on “Mission Life” was organized by the Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal. The workshop was primarily attended by the institute’s director, Dr. K. Ravichandran. The training program saw participation from individuals with diverse backgrounds, including members of stakeholder agencies, project managers, social experts, environmentalists, technical officers, and sustainability project leaders.
Under the guidance of Program Director Dr. Yogesh Dubey, the training program featured special lectures by scholars in the field, covering topics such as the thematic areas of Mission Life and its interrelation with SDGs, behavior-based solutions for pro-planet people, managing urban green and blue spaces for better living, adopting sustainable food systems and experiencing sustainable organic farming, water crisis: challenges and solutions, saving water for the future, circular economy: the way forward in tackling sustainability challenges, and how to live an energy-efficient lifestyle: options and opportunities, among others.
Participants were given insights into tribal culture and lifestyle through a visit to the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya. They also visited a municipal solid waste dumping site to gain practical insights and a better understanding of waste management challenges. The objective of this multifaceted training was to promote environmental sustainability and foster planet-friendly behavior among various stakeholders across the country.
