CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The second half-yearly meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Number–2) was successfully organized on 11 December 2025 at the National Institute of Design, Madhya Pradesh.

The objective of the committee is to review and promote the progressive use of Hindi as the Official Language in Central Government offices/undertakings, and to provide a shared platform for discussions and suggestions for the effective implementation of the Official Language Policy. These committee meetings are held twice a year, once every six months.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held with administrative heads of city-based offices and officers engaged in official language activities regarding guidelines, compliance with Hindi work, and future action plans. Around 120 representatives from 46 offices actively participated in the meeting and presented significant insights on the progressive use of Hindi, achievements, and upcoming work strategies in their respective offices.

The meeting was chaired by Mrs. Sumbul Munshi, Unit Head and NARAKAS Chairperson (Number–2), Central Power Research Institute, Govindpura, Bhopal, while Ms. Vidya Raj, Junior Hindi Translator and Member-Secretary of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Number–2), played a key role in conducting it.

Distinguished attendees included Dr. Vidya Rakesh, Director, National Institute of Design, Madhya Pradesh; Mr. Shrikrishna Birman, Registrar; Ms. Neetik Devgan, Senior Faculty; and Mr. Rajesh Kumar Saini, Administrative Officer & Official Language Officer.

Mr. Narendra Singh Mehra, Deputy Director (Implementation), Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Official Language, Regional Office, Bhopal, was also present in the meeting.

In this annual event, officers/offices making outstanding contributions and promoting progressive work in Hindi were honored with First, Second, and Third prizes under various categories as encouragement awards. The award ceremony highlighted and appreciated excellence and innovative efforts in Hindi language work.

This meeting was specifically organized to promote the progressive use of Hindi as the Official Language, discuss challenges in implementation, and provide guidance for executing future plans. Through the committee, a collective commitment was made to continuously develop a more effective and result-oriented approach for the wider use of the Hindi language.
