Under the directives of the Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court, Jabalpur, and the Executive Chairman and Member Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur, a five-day mediation training program for judges was organized by the District Legal Services Authority, Bhopal. The event was held at Palash Residency, Bhopal, under the guidance of Manoj Kumar Srivastava, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Bhopal, and coordinated by Sunit Agarwal, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority.

Inauguration Ceremony

The program was inaugurated by Pradeep Mittal, Member Secretary, Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur, along with Director Manoj Kumar Srivastava, Principal District and Sessions Judge Giribala Singh, and Senior Master Trainer in Mediation. The ceremony began with the lighting of a lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati and the offering of floral tributes.

The event was attended by Director Agnindra Kumar Dwivedi, Chief Judicial Magistrate Sunit Agarwal, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Bhopal, trainee judges, and Abhay Singh, District Legal Aid Officer.

The Need for Trained Mediators – Pradeep Mittal

In his keynote address, Pradeep Mittal, Member Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, emphasized that although every individual in society often acts as a mediator during disputes, proper training is essential to effectively resolve conflicts. He stressed that mediation training programs are crucial in shaping a dispute-free society, and expressed confidence that judges undergoing this training will play a pivotal role in realizing this vision.

Mediation for Conflict Resolution – Manoj Kumar Srivastava

Manoj Kumar Srivastava, Principal District and Sessions Judge, highlighted that mediation can resolve disputes of all magnitudes, from minor conflicts to major legal cases, in a positive manner. He thanked the State Legal Services Authority for providing Bhopal with the opportunity to host this crucial training program.

Preventing Minor Disputes from Escalating – Giribala Singh

Senior Master Trainer in Mediation, Giribala Singh, emphasized that mediation is the most effective method to resolve even minor disputes at an early stage, preventing them from escalating into serious criminal cases.

Closing Remarks and Acknowledgments

The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Sunit Agarwal, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, who expressed gratitude to all esteemed guests, senior master trainers, and participating judges.
