CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Australia defeated Zimbabwe by 84 runs in the second ODI played in Harare, powered by a blistering century from Travis Head. With the win, Australia took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.

Batting first, Australia scored 356 runs in 50 overs. Travis Head played an innings of 112 runs off just 84 balls, including 15 fours and 3 sixes. He completed his century in only 75 balls, the fastest ODI hundred by an Australian batter against Zimbabwe. Captain Mitchell Marsh scored 53, while Cooper Connolly made 78.

Chasing a target of 357, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 272 in 48.3 overs. Captain Sikandar Raza scored 45, but the team could not reach the target. For Australia, Josh Hazlewood, Cooper Connolly, Matt Renshaw and Adam Zampa took two wickets each.

Head was named Player of the Match for his outstanding innings. The third and final ODI of the series will be played on September 20 in Harare.
