CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal: CNN Central News and Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal reports that on the occasion of World Environment Day, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Sarojini Naidu Girls' Government Postgraduate College organized a tree plantation programme on the college campus.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of college Principal Surendra Vihari Goswami and the leadership of NSS Programme Officer Manjula Vishwas. Eco Club in-charge Deepti Sankat and Chandana Basu were also present on the occasion. Everyone planted a tree in the name of mother. Eleven volunteers of the unit actively participated in the environmental protection campaign.

Marking Environment Day this year, the volunteers planted saplings under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign. On the occasion, all participants pledged to remain constantly alert towards the environment, conserve water, and ensure continuous care and complete protection of the planted saplings.

The main objective of the programme was to strengthen the sense of responsibility among girl students towards the conservation of nature.
