CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal/ Rewa: A tree plantation program was organized at the Rewa campus of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication under the theme “Hariyali Mahotsav – A Tree in the Name of Mother”.
The Chief Guest of the event was Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, and the event was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Vijay Manohar Tiwari.
Deputy CM Shukla described the initiative as an “emotional resolution”, stating that in Indian tradition, trees are regarded as divine, and we should protect them with the same devotion as we care for our children. He described the pledge to plant two lakh saplings in Rewa as the foundation for a greener future.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Collector Pratibha Pal, Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Sonwane, and Sainik School Principal Colonel Avinash Rawal, along with many distinguished personalities from administrative, social, and literary fields.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Vijay Manohar Tiwari remarked that the Rewa campus is not only a center of education but also a hub for preserving nature and culture.
The program convener, senior journalist Jairam Shukla, called it a life-giving initiative for future generations.
Deputy Registrar Vivek Shakya, who delivered the vote of thanks, said that the event has become a symbol of environmental awareness and social responsibility.
The event witnessed active participation from students, faculty, and local citizens, turning it into a mass movement.
