CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On World Environment Day, tree plantation was carried out in Vidyavan Vatika at Babulal Gaur Government P.G. College, BHEL, Bhopal. The plantation drive was participated in by Barelal Ahirwar, President of the college’s Public Participation Committee; Principal Sanjay Jain; Geeta Chauhan, In-charge of the National Service Scheme (NSS) Girls Unit; Neeraj Singh, Councilor and Zone President-14; Ganesh Ram Nagar; Ram Asare; Rahul Singh; Archana Sharma; Sushma Jadon; R.K. Sharma; A.K. Mahagae; Anuradha Dubey; Meeta Badal; Shalini Tiwari; Pratibha Deharia; Seema Srivastava; Avinash Mishra; Saurav Singh; Rajaram Mahawar; NSS and NCC students; and the entire college community, who all participated in the plantation at Vidyavan. The Municipal Corporation provided 150 Kanji and Kachnar saplings for plantation.
Speaking on the occasion, Barelal said, “We are the children of this earth. The Earth has given us the sun, air, water, and fruits. We all owe a debt to the land. It is the environment that protects our breath. It is our duty to protect this earth’s environment.” Principal Sanjay Jain informed that this year’s World Environment Day theme is “Eliminate Plastic Pollution.” He added, “If we keep our homes, institutions, and surroundings clean and plastic-free, we will have fulfilled our duty.”
NSS Program Officer Geeta Chauhan appealed to all the students, staff, and faculty present to plant more trees and take good care of them.
