CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A grand ceremony was held at Babulal Gaur Government Postgraduate College BHEL Bhopal to commemorate the birth anniversary of the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, the late Babulal Gaur. On this occasion, the chief guest, Honorable Mrs. Krishna Gaur, Minister of State with independent charge of the Madhya Pradesh Government’s Backward Classes and Minority Welfare, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Welfare Department, Bhopal (M.P.), paid tribute by offering floral wreaths at the statue of the late Babulal Gaur. In her heartfelt speech, she said that she bows to the respected Babuji, who was a symbol of simplicity and purity in politics, a humble, natural, and straightforward personality, and a center of ideals.
She said today is a day to pledge to follow his ideals. I am a daughter who was guided by him at every moment. He was a true public servant and a karma yogi. The honorable minister expressed happiness that from the academic session 2025-26, the AEDP course B.A. Tourism and Hospitality Operations will commence in this college, where students admitted will be eligible for a stipend of Rs. 8,000 per month in the third year. She also mentioned that the amount of Rs. 3.65 crore approved by the Higher Education Department for a multipurpose hall on the college campus is insufficient. Considering Babuji’s stature and the need of the area, she recommended that the hall should be constructed at a minimum cost of Rs. 10 crore.
The inauguration of the Babulal Gaur Research Coordination Cell and a newly constructed car parking shed costing Rs. 21 lakh was done, followed by tree plantation on the college campus.
The program was conducted by Barelal Ahirwar, President of the College’s Jan Bhagidari Committee. Principal Sanjay Jain highlighted the college activities and informed that the Babulal Gaur Research Coordination Cell is being run in his name, which will provide literature facilities for students of political science and social sciences pursuing Ph.D. on Babuji’s personality and contributions. Social worker R.K. Yadav expressed gratitude to all.
On this occasion, Director L.K. Khare, SDM and Vice-President of Jan Bhagidari Committee, various councilors of Govindpura area, senior social workers, senior activists, college professors, and students paid floral tributes at Babuji’s statue.
Health check-up camps were organized by Noble Multi-Speciality Hospital & Cardiac Center Bhopal and Sai Wellness FitZone Bhopal, where many people got their health examined. Senior social worker Pachh Khamra was appointed as a member of the Jan Bhagidari Committee on this occasion.
