CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of World Environment Day, a special program was organized at Jawaharlal Nehru Government Postgraduate College, located in Shujalpur. On this occasion, a Triveni plantation (Peepal, Banyan, and Neem trees) was carried out collectively. The college principal, faculty members, staff, and students actively participated in the event with great enthusiasm.
The program began with a brief lecture highlighting the importance of the environment. Speakers shed light on the grave impacts of climate change, deforestation, and rising pollution levels. In his address, the principal said, “Protecting the environment is not a one-day pledge but a lifelong responsibility. We must plant more trees and adopt a green lifestyle.”
On this occasion, all participants took the following pledge:
“Let us come together to plant trees and make the environment clean.”
The students held placards promoting environmental protection slogans and planted over 20 saplings across the campus.
This World Environment Day event was not limited to just tree plantation but also conveyed a powerful message — that sustainable development and sensitivity toward nature are the foundations of a stable human life.
This program significantly increased environmental awareness among the youth and proved to be an inspiring step toward creating a cleaner and greener India.
