CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed anger over not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.
Trump claimed that he had played a role in stopping eight wars and said he should have received a peace prize for each of them. Expressing disappointment over the award selection, Trump said his efforts had not received proper recognition.
Trump also commented on Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Corina Machado during the discussion around the award, saying that he had expected to receive the honour. He also made remarks about the identity and popularity of the person who received the prize. His comments have again brought debate over international politics and the selection of the Nobel Peace Prize into focus.
Trump has repeatedly claimed that his efforts helped stop or end several international conflicts. However, differing assessments have continued to emerge regarding the number of conflicts he has cited and the U.S. role in them. The Nobel Peace Prize is selected by Norway’s Nobel Committee, and its decisions are made under a defined process.
