CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: Uddhav Thackeray says there has been no dialogue with the BJP after 2019; some people’s phones have been switched off forever.
Mumbai. Statements over the old ties between the BJP and Shiv Sena have once again intensified in Maharashtra politics. Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) chief Uddhav Thackeray said that after 2019, he had no dialogue with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He made the comment during the launch event of MP Sanjay Raut’s 17th book. On the occasion, discussions were held on state politics, the old alliance and changed relations between leaders.
In his address, Uddhav Thackeray said that some people’s phones have been switched off forever. His remark is being seen in the context of earlier political contacts with the BJP and the distance that emerged later. However, political circles may see different discussions over whom he was referring to through this statement.
After the 2019 Assembly elections in Maharashtra, differences had emerged between the BJP and the undivided Shiv Sena over the chief minister’s post. After this, the alliance between the two parties broke, and Uddhav Thackeray formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi government along with the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party. After the split in Shiv Sena in June 2022, political equations in the state changed further.
Uddhav Thackeray’s comment on the occasion of the launch of Sanjay Raut’s 17th book has once again brought the political distance between the BJP and the Thackeray family into discussion. After his statement, debate is likely to intensify in Maharashtra politics over past developments and current political relationships.
