CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The University Institute of Technology (UIT) and CRIM, Barkatullah University, Bhopal, organised the Induction Programme 2026-27 for the academic session 2026-27 at Gyan Vigyan Bhavan on September 8, 2026. Around 750 newly admitted students were welcomed at the programme. Its objective was to familiarise students with the academic environment, university facilities, student-support systems and the various opportunities available during their period of study.
The inaugural ceremony began with the singing of the National Song, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp. Taruna Jain presented the programme outline, after which UIT Director Neeraj Gaur delivered the welcome address. The gathering was also addressed by the registrar of Barkatullah University and the chief guest, a former vice-chancellor of Barkatullah University. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Shashi Yadav. All those present expressed respect for Bharat Mata by collectively singing the National Anthem.
Welcoming the newly admitted students, the speakers congratulated them on securing admission to UIT and CRIM and encouraged them to make maximum use of the academic resources, facilities, training opportunities, sports, co-curricular activities and student-support services available at the university. Throughout the day, students were provided important information on the academic calendar and examination system, placement and internship opportunities, fee structure and scholarship schemes, and sports facilities and activities. Various sessions were conducted by faculty members and university officials, including Pawan Mishra, P.K. Sharma, Sunita Gond, Madhu Verma, Diwak Singh, Alok Mishra and P.K. Singh. A session coordinated by Pawan Mishra, in which students took a pledge against drug abuse, was an inspiring part of the programme.
A major attraction of the programme was the interaction with various heads of departments, who introduced students to their respective subject areas, academic programmes, facilities and future prospects. The departments represented included Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Humanities and Mathematics.
The programme also placed special emphasis on the importance of students’ holistic development. Rohit Raj Vaidya familiarised students with the activities and opportunities available under the National Service Scheme (NSS) and highlighted its role in community service, leadership development and social responsibility. The day concluded with an engaging cultural activity session coordinated by Shashi Yadav.
