CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: An eight-day induction program titled “Deeksharambh” has commenced at the administrative building of UIT RGPV, Bhopal, to welcome and orient newly admitted first-year undergraduate students.
The program aims to introduce students to the institutional functioning, academic structure, various departments, co-curricular activities, core values of the institute, and the faculty members.
The induction program will continue until August 8.
At the inaugural session, Prof. Rajeev Tripathi, Vice Chancellor of RGPV, and Prof. Sudhir Singh Bhadoria, Director of UIT RGPV, graced the event as chief guests, along with heads of departments and faculty members from various disciplines.
Addressing the newly admitted students, Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajeev Tripathi urged them to pursue their academic journey with purpose, integrity, and consistent effort. He emphasized that education is not just a career-building tool but a medium for character development.
Prof. Tripathi encouraged students to embrace interdisciplinary learning, foster innovation, and remain rooted in ethical values.

“True excellence,” he stated, “lies not only in becoming skilled professionals, but also in evolving as responsible, empathetic, and socially committed citizens.”
On this occasion, Director Prof. Sudhir Singh Bhadoria inspired students to view knowledge as a transformative force, and channel their immense potential toward intellectual curiosity and innovative efforts.
He emphasized that the journey of an engineer requires curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong learning mindset.
He also highlighted the need for students to aspire not only to become competent engineers but also global citizens guided by compassion, responsibility, and social relevance.
As part of the Deeksharambh program, first-year undergraduate students will be introduced to key elements of technical education under the National Education Policy, including multidisciplinary learning, multiple entry-exit options, placement mechanisms, MOOCs, NCC, NSS, library orientation, student welfare services, and an overview of various academic departments.
A special session will also feature a lecture by industry and motivational speaker Dr. Rajeev Agrawal.
During the opening session, Dr. Nitin Srivastava, Head of Department, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all distinguished guests, faculty members, and participating students.
He appreciated the collaborative efforts behind the program and encouraged students to make curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning integral to their academic life.
He also emphasized that such experiential learning activities are vital for the holistic development of students.
