CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The NCC unit of UIT RGPV Bhopal organized a marathon run on the university campus to spread awareness in connection with Armed Forces Flag Day. A total of 54 students from the institute participated in the event.

The marathon competition covered 5 km for male students and 3 km for female students. The run was flagged off by UIT Director Sudhir Singh Bhadauria, NCC Coordinator Dr. Shashiranjan Akela, and Lieutenant Dr. Kaustubh Dwivedi. On this occasion, Prof. Mahesh Panwar, Dr. Bhupendra Singh, Dr. Manoj Pandey, Dr. Anjana Pandey, Dr. Brijendra Gaur, and Dr. Swati Gupta were present along with NCC cadets and students.

In the 3 km marathon for female students, Khushi Khawde secured the first position, Sapna Choudhary second, and Rajshree Sukala third. In the 5 km marathon for male students, Vikas Baghel came first, Yogesh Kalam second, and Kamlesh Khadware secured third place. The winners were honored with medals and certificates.

During the prize distribution ceremony, Prof. Sudhir Singh Bhadauria and Dr. Shashiranjan Akela addressed the participants, stating that NCC cadets, committed to national service and discipline, fulfill their role with sensitivity towards society. They appreciated the efforts made on the university campus to raise awareness for the welfare of the families of soldiers through Armed Forces Flag Day. Activities like marathon runs, they said, build courage, patience, and discipline, which play an important role in the overall development of students.
